Can Bafana Bafana fill Springbok Boots?
Posted by Jislaaik on September 14, 2009

Well, with yet another romping victory for the Springboks, one wonders how Bafana Bafana are feeling?

I would hope that they are happy to be left out of the media spotlight for now, while they get on in earnest with preparations for the qualifiers, which are just a formality for them, and then the actual Championship itself.

It is not a fair comparison really as soccer (or Football as they call it in Europe) is a northern hemisphere sport where team work and sportmanship are put above personal glory when representing your nation. Something the african nations are still learning...

They certainly have big boots to fill and I look forward to see how they face up to the challenge. There is no reason, apart from the usual political interference and skullduggery that is, that prevents them from rising to the occassion...

I personally believe this will be one of the more 'entertaining and colourful' World Cup Championships!

Jislaaik... One would hope that with the eyes of the world on the event, Players, Politicians and the Public can conduct their personal glories agendas or profits in a dignified manner. It is not just Bafana Bafana that is going to be tested...

oooooooops - well it appears we spoke too soon! Zuma says that the team needs Benni McCarthy back... Firstly he should run the country and not use his voice to favour or influence sport or any individual. Benni is a clear example of what a team player is NOT!

Well looks like the Boks are keen to spread some of their cheer and morale to Bafana Bafana, having publicly declared their support. Breaking theri busy schedule for this press mo.
